Got an error message on your Desktop or Laptop saying Bitlocker Recovery?
This most likely happened due to a Windows update recently that required a Firmware upgrade to BIOS.
What does that mean for you?  Your hard drive is left encrypted and requires a Bitlocker Recovery Key to access it!

"But I dont know my Bitlocker Recovery Key!!!"

Well, neither do we!  But we can maybe help you find it!

  • Click at the bottom where it states “Press escape for more recovery options”.
It will give you an option to sign into your Microsoft account to gain access to your recovery key.

  • Go to https://account.Microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey

  • Login with your Microsoft or business account.

  • Go to “Devices” / “Manage Devices”.

  • Click on the PC/Laptop you need the recovery key for, and type that recovery key into the box above.

Hopefully, your device has been tied to your Microsoft / Work account, and you can access your recovery key there.

If you still are unable to access it, there are some other options, but you will need to submit a helpdesk ticket here to get that process started!
